全球化使得國際間相互影響的程度升高,國家安全不再是單一國家的事務。宏觀介紹區域安全趨勢,搭配「聚焦全球火線」掌握當前世界各地重要議題與衝突事件;於各國區域安全後運用「亞太線上」圖片集錦,讓學生對亞太地區情勢有概略性了解,再進入到「亞太重要安全議題」。內容深入淺出、架構清晰明瞭、層次分明,配合精美圖片及活潑的版面設計,有助學生建立具體、完整的國際情勢概念。
配合課程主題編製「兩岸機艦識別」,期望透過圖文並茂的說明,培養學生「知己知彼」的能力,強化敵我意識。為提升學生對保防工作的關注,「保防時刻」利用報導的方式呈現,強化全民保防觀念,提升整體保防力量。此外,藉由「臺菲漁業衝突事件的外交作為分析」、「釣魚臺主權爭議的發展與外交意義」、「南海的衝突與治理」、「北韓威脅得了東北亞國家嗎」四大議題,探討面對主權爭端與威脅時的正確作為,強化國家主權概念,提升憂患意識,培養愛國情操。
