本課程以幾部近年來具代表性的台灣電影，透過這些影像，來認識過去半世紀的台灣社會與文化脈動。這些影像作品，有的體現新一代台灣電影的關懷與視野，有的回應了當前台灣正在成形的文化處境，有的回顧歷史，有的則剖析社會問題，他們以各自獨有的方式，在對我們生活其中而稱之為台灣的這個世界進行對話。本課程期許從這些電影與相關閱讀，對台灣社會有具體的認識與反省。本課程更鼓勵學生從中領略悠遊電影、歷史、政治、社會、性別等不同學科的跨領域學習過程。

This course uses several Taiwanese films that have been representative in recent years. Through these images, we can learn about Taiwan’s social and cultural movements over the past half a century. Some of these video works show concerns and visions of a new generation of Taiwanese movies, some respond to the cultural situation that is taking shape in Taiwan, some review history, and some analyze social problems. They talk about the world we live in their own ways, which is called Taiwan. This course may have a specific understanding and reflection on Taiwanese society from these movies and related readings. This course also encourages students to learn across the cross-domain learning process in different subjects such as film, history, politics, society, and gender.
