社會領域的課程目標在於啟發學生能夠承認差異,願意肯定自我,欣賞他人與尊重差異。惟隨著我國新南向政策的提出,東南亞各國似乎已成為當前我國各界均無法漠視的新興領域。特別是身處於東南亞區域邊緣的我國,似乎應該更加積極應對之;然而,我國各界民眾對於東南亞的認知始終仍不及對歐美、日本和中國大陸的熟悉。或許這也就是我國政府當局雖然有意推動政策,但是成效卻不如預期之關鍵所在吧。
基於此,本課程嘗試從國際關係的學理,嘗試探討當前東南亞的國際現狀和相關課題。就課程的安排上,期中考之前,主要是針對國際關係的基本學理和重要個案,進行探討詮釋(配合理論概念,再透過個案的印證)。期中考之後,主要是針對東南亞區域的國際衝突及合作案例進行討論,諸如南中國海主權爭端、海洋東南亞的領土爭議、跨國恐怖主義、國際組織和區域經濟整合等議題。
除此之外,在課程進行當中,也同時要求同學定期(期中考後,每週2組)針對東南亞各國的即時新聞資料進行收集整理和報告,期望透過上述理論與個案的印證外,再加上同學們的主動參與,藉此建立同學自主學習的能力和習慣。
The goal of the social field curriculum is to inspire students to recognize differences, be willing to affirm themselves, appreciate others and respect differences. However, with the introduction of my country's New Southbound Policy, Southeast Asian countries seem to have become an emerging area that all walks of life in my country cannot ignore. Especially our country, which is on the edge of Southeast Asia, seems to be more proactive in dealing with it; however, people from all walks of life in our country are still not as familiar with Southeast Asia as they are with Europe, the United States, Japan, and mainland China. Perhaps this is the key reason why although our government authorities intend to promote policies, the results are not as good as expected.
Based on this, this course attempts to explore the current international status quo and related issues in Southeast Asia from the perspective of international relations theory. As for the course arrangement, before the mid-term exam, the main focus is on the basic theories and important cases of international relations, discussing and interpreting them (coupling theoretical concepts and then confirming them through case studies). After the midterm exam, there will be discussions on international conflicts and cooperation cases in Southeast Asia, such as sovereignty disputes in the South China Sea, territorial disputes in maritime Southeast Asia, transnational terrorism, international organizations, and regional economic integration.
In addition, during the course, students are also required to collect, organize and report real-time news data from Southeast Asian countries on a regular basis (after the mid-term exam, 2 groups per week). It is expected that in addition to confirming the above theories and cases, they will also The active participation of the students helps build students' ability and habits of independent learning.
