This course will use lively and interesting question design, the introduction of film and television related materials, as well as related teaching aids and activities, as well as handouts prepared by teachers, to guide students to learn the basic concepts of symbolic logic, train the ability of logical thinking and reasoning analysis, and understand Relevant knowledge of basic mathematics, exploring the important roles played by logic and mathematics in life and the development of human civilization, experiencing the unique "beauty" of mathematics, and improving students' mathematical literacy required to cope with the development of modern technology.
The course first focuses on logical concepts and applications, with a special focus on exploring logical reasoning methods and practical applications in daily life. Subsequently, the introduction to mathematical concepts is divided into two parts: numbers and geometry. However, it does not talk about difficult mathematical theories and complicated mathematical formulas, but focuses on exploring mathematics and life, art, culture, and architecture (combined with teachers’ experience in ethnomathematics). research in the field) and the connection between technological development. The course will also arrange at least several times in the first and second half of the semester to appreciate mathematics film and television materials and analyze their mathematical connotations, interspersed with relevant course activities and practical experience with teaching aids, to reflect and explore the diverse features of mathematics from different aspects.
In addition to attendance and class performance, the course evaluation method is expected to adopt individual or group cooperation methods in the logic part. The concepts of classroom learning are used to design logic problems and their reasoning results, and short video works are used as the basis for scoring. The mathematics part is an online multiple-choice test at the end of the semester. This test is not a test of mathematical ability, but focuses on the basic concepts of mathematics mentioned in class. In addition, there will also be in-class activity worksheets and film and television material appreciation feedback sheets (in paper or online form). The independent practical learning results in the 17th and 18th weeks of the course will be incorporated into the attendance score calculation.
