視覺是大部分的人了解及探索世界的最主要工具,而視覺是透過光為媒介來傳達物體所攜帶的資訊。因此瞭解光的性質及特性可以幫助我們更加理解我們所看到的世界,也可以讓我們將光作為工具來對世界進行更多的探索,甚至讓我們可以更進一步對光進行操控並創造出更不一樣的世界樣貌。本課程的目標有三個。首先讓學生學習到光的基本性質。接著透過與生活中的例子讓學生了解其所看到的各種現象的原因。最後,教導學生如何控制及操縱光。本課程將介紹光的各種面向的知識,並利用生活中的實例強化學生對光學知識的理解及學習興趣。另外也將利用可以在課堂上操作的實作活動來增進學生的學習成效。最後,會讓學生選定一個與自己專業有關的光學課題進行口頭報告,一方面讓學生可以將課堂上的光學知識活用在自己的專業科目上,另一方面也將課堂上所學到的光學知識做更進一步的科學探索。Vision is the most important tool for most people to understand and explore the world, and vision uses light as a medium to convey information carried by objects.
