Rural development aims to improve the quality of life and economic welfare of people living in rural areas, which are often relatively isolated with sparse populations. In this course, we will explore various case studies of rural development in diverse developing countries from the 1980s to the present, discussing their evaluation and understanding both the theory and practice of rural development. Through lectures and discussions, we aim to deepen our understanding and utilize this knowledge to create 'Rural Development Project Proposals' in group work, addressing the challenges of a hypothetical rural village in a developing country and devising solutions.
