教育目標 Course Target
1. Generating awareness to the possible irreversible situations of the fragile global environment with an emphasis on preserving the capability of the environment to recover itself without causing too many climate changes.
2. Imparting a deeper understanding of environmental sustainability - a wiser use of resources in the context of economic, social and environment nexus.
3. Promoting new disruptive ideas to tackle urgent issues like green-house gases, climate change, water pollution and other unsustainable practices.

課程概述 Course Description
This course is general in nature and will introduce students to the basic principles of ecology and sustainability as they apply to the analysis of environmental systems on a global scale. The integrated nature of oceans, terrestrial and atmospheric systems, effects of human footprint, pollution creation, climate change, rates of resource harvest and sustainable food, energy and materials are some of the topics that will be covered. This course will better equip students for making informed decisions and taking economically feasible actions now that are in the interests of protecting the future of the planet we call home.
