Japanese culture has become one of the strongest cultures at the end of the 20th century - the beginning of the 21st century, and many cultural achievements have become world-class cultural phenomena. In terms of architecture, Japan's unique spatial beauty, detailed design, and even the perpetuality and environmental concern of buildings have a profound impact on the world; in the spring of 2024, the annual event of the international architecture community, Puliz Awards was announced. The Japanese architect Yamamoto Rika won the award, allowing Japanese Architecture to further win the number of owners in the Puliz award. Just 100 years ago, Kobe intends to publish "Mi Go Architecture" in Paris to describe the "new spirit" of the architecture he has learned. The book has also become a must-have handbook for modern building learners in the past century. In Tokyo the same year, Japanese architects faced the first year after the Kwan-Tong earthquake. The process of post-disaster recovery implies the re-emergence of Japanese architecture attempts to repel Western-style ideas. If we all agree that the Prize award means the value recognized by the international architectural community, the frequent award of Japanese architects can be said to mean the latest value orientation after the development of modern construction after a century of stacking. Therefore, it is hard to help but think about what the thoughts that must be paid attention to in Japanese architecture? The Puliz Award, which represents the value of modern architecture that has grown up in Western culture, is the phenomenon that Japanese architects occupy the world's heads alone and reveals what information must be investigated in depth? How Japanese architecture can be recognized or even surpassed in the modern world with Western values as its core is a topic worthy of in-depth exploration for non-Western European countries. In this regard, this course focuses on 20th century Japanese architecture and cities, and takes the Priligy award of Japanese architecture masters as the verdict of time. Through key building events, students will be led to their classmates to understand the development of modern Japanese architecture and explain the recent modern Japanese architecture. Generate ties and characteristics, and further explore the cultural implications supported behind them.
