Site Planning, Kevin Lynch and Gary Hack gave a beautiful definition, "Site planning is an art of arranging structures on the land to form spatial patterns. It is also a combination of architecture and engineering. An art of study, landscape architecture and urban planning." From the perspective of historical development, the base project is a method of exploring human settlement. It is a method of placing long-term activities and behaviors on a piece of land, and then exploring the group activities and behaviors of humans on many lands. The knock-on effects on land and the wider environment. Past development behaviors have produced significant changes to the earth's natural environment and climate, including the growth and decline of ecological species to the occurrence of extreme climates, which we have already experienced. While facing land development, how to achieve the goal of environmental sustainability is a topic that must be actively faced, because this crisis has affected the survival of the global ecology in our century. The purpose of this course is to analyze past development plans that focused on economic benefits, explore the crux of the problem, and look forward to developing an environmentally friendly development model and launching innovative project proposals.
Site planning is the planning of a specific site to achieve project goals. In the natural base, the planning topic mainly deals with the balanced relationship between the natural environment system and the man-made system. In the urban base, the relationship between individual building groups and the overall urban environment is dealt with.
This course is divided into two semesters. The first semester is compulsory. The content is practical and analysis-oriented, focusing on understanding planning.
Discussion and resolution of various influencing factors and substantive issues. The next semester is an elective course, focusing on the study of planning concepts.
The focus includes understanding of the history of base planning, discussion of specific planning types and cases.
