藝術發展到後現代主義時期便進入了一個藝術終結的時代。當然所謂藝術的終結並不代表藝術已經消亡，而是藝術已經不再被一個明確指向的風格所導引，並且由感官的視覺轉向於思考的哲學，藝術因而具有了更多的可能性。
此堂課以當代藝術現象為主，從後現代的美學及藝術思潮作為課程內容理論的發展主幹，廣泛的討論物體、空間、影像、消費與大眾傳媒在當代藝術裡面的顯像，從而架構出一張廣而多元的現象地圖，作為理解當代消費社會以及藝術理論的基礎。

Art has developed into a period of ending art into the post-modernist period. Of course, the finality of art does not mean that art has disappeared, but that art has no longer been directed by a style that clearly points toward, and has shifted from the perception of the senses to the philosophy of thinking, and art thus has more possibilities.
This class focuses on contemporary art phenomena. It focuses on post-modern aesthetics and artistic thoughts as the development of course content theory, and discusses the images of objects, spaces, images, consumption and the public media in contemporary art. It constructs a broad and diverse phenomenon map as the basis for understanding contemporary consumer society and art discussions.

介紹西方思想史中的「美學」與當代文化及藝術研究之理論基礎概念，作為大學部學生創作的理論參考架構，以及理論研究進階發展的基礎。

Introducing the theoretical basic concepts of "aesthetics" and contemporary cultural and artistic research in the history of Western thought, it serves as a theoretical reference structure for university students' creations, as well as the basis for advanced theoretical research development.
