從十九世紀末期的印象派開始，到第二次世界大戰之間的諸項藝術流派的發展作為此課程的結構主軸。歐洲二十世紀前半葉複雜、混亂的政治及社會狀態，相對應的呼應現代藝術的叛逆特質以及追求對「新的忠誠」的理論根據。藉由課程的編排了解現代藝術對探求藝術可能性的熱切渴望，從而建立起學生對早期現代主義藝術發展的基本概念，了解諸如「現成物」以及「材質通俗化」等現代藝術時期即萌生的重要概念及手法，並作為理解在二次戰後的藝術往多方位發展的先導思路。The main structure of this course was the beginning of Impressionism in the late nineteenth century and the development of the art school between the Second World War. The first half of the 20th century Europe was complicated and chaotic political and social state, and the corresponding call for the rebellious characteristics of modern art and the theoretical basis of pursuing "new loyalty". Through course arrangement, we understand the passionate desire of modern art to explore the possibilities of art, and then establish students' basic concepts for the development of early modernist art, and understand the emergence of modern art such as "prepared objects" and "popularization of materials". Important concepts and techniques are used as a guide to understand the multi-directional development of art after the Second War.
本課程所討論的時間範圍主要從工業革命以後，由於產業革命與資本主義的興起對於19世紀末到當代的相關藝術與作品、流派之議題探討。
The time range discussed in this course mainly follows the industrial revolution, and the rise of the industrial revolution and capitalism has explored the issues of related art, works and genres from the late 19th century to the contemporary era.
