1938 - 媒介與溝通 Media and Communication


教育目標 Course Target

媒介(media)概念可以從兩個面向進行討論,一是具體的媒介技術,從文字、印刷術,到近代的廣播、電視、電影、電腦和網路,都可稱為媒介;另一個面向則是抽象的媒介文化,每一種媒介都為社會形塑了一種特殊的文化,甚至扮演了改變社會的重要角色,如印刷術引起的宗教革命(聖經的普及)和科學革命;近20年來,電腦、網際網路與AI的影響展現在各領域中,舉凡政治、行銷、教育等,都正在面對資訊爆炸帶來的變化。課程中除了探討不同種類的媒介之外,也探討媒介在溝通之中扮演的角色,另外也會學習不同媒介學派的觀點。如果人與人之間沒有語言、文字、視覺媒介如圖像、影像、電腦和網路等,那麼溝通就不可能出現,也不可能形成文化。如果溝通是社會的基本元素,那麼媒介就是溝通之所以可能的重要元素,因此兩者相互依賴也缺一不可。如果每一種媒介都建構一個新的世界,就像不同的語言展現出不同的世界觀,那麼,各種不同的媒介必然也形成了不同世界,而我們所熟悉的社群平台整合了過去各種不同媒介,是否與過去的媒介形塑了相同或相異的世界?透過這堂課,或許可以提供一些不同的觀點來進行觀察。The concept of media can be discussed from two aspects. One is specific media technology, from writing and printing to modern radio, television, movies, computers and the Internet, which can all be called media; the other aspect is It is an abstract media culture. Each medium shapes a characteristic for society. A special culture, and even played an important role in changing society, such as the religious revolution (popularization of the Bible) and scientific revolution caused by printing; in the past 20 years, the impact of computers, the Internet and AI has been shown in various fields, including politics , marketing, education, etc., are all facing changes brought about by the information explosion. In addition to exploring different types of media, the course also explores the role of media in communication. In addition, we will also learn the views of different media schools. If there were no language, text, and visual media such as images, videos, computers, and the Internet between people, then communication would not be possible and culture would not be formed. If communication is a basic element of society, then media is an important element that makes communication possible, and therefore the two are interdependent and indispensable. If each medium constructs a new world, just like different languages ​​show different world views, then various different media must also form different worlds, and the social platforms we are familiar with integrate various different media in the past. Does the media shape the same or different worlds as in the past? Through this class, it may be possible to provide some different perspectives for observation.
