政治運作乃是以「人」為主體，經由歷史演進，思潮轉變，人類社會漸次發展出豐富且多元的政治文化及制度。政治、歷史、制度，可謂構成研究當代政治議題的三大主要面向，本課程對台灣社會的分析，便將以此三者為基，並旁及比較政治的視野，依次檢視當前台灣民主社會實際運作問題。民主政治作為當前人類社會最主要的生活方式，其演進過程乃至於適用所產生的利弊得失，自是本課程最希望學習者掌握的重點。思想產生制度，而制度的運作，更透過人為因素予以延續或轉化，未來民主如何被實踐？應如何被看待？均同樣是學習者應不斷省思的重要觀念。Political operations are based on "people". 本課程對臺灣當代政治議題的分析，將著重歷史、制度、政治實務三大面向，並探討民主政治發展的利弊得失。課程由臺灣民主運動的歷史背景與思想文化出發，依此檢驗臺灣的民主轉型與憲政經驗，培養學習者正確理解當前臺灣政治議題以及對時政發展的興趣。
This course's analysis of contemporary political issues in Taiwan will focus on three aspects: history, system, and political practice, and explore the pros and cons of the development of democratic politics.
