本課程上學期討論國際安全，下學期則是探討國際政治經濟。雖然這兩個部份被分開處理，但是在理論和實際上都有相互重疊的部份，授課者嘗試運用主宰，互惠和認同等三個核心概念突顯這項事實This course discusses international security in the first semester and international political economy in the second semester. Although these two parts are treated separately, there are overlaps in theory and practice. The lecturer attempts to highlight this fact by using three core concepts of dominance, reciprocity and identity.
國際政治強調理論與個案研究。面對林林總總國際政治現象，運用那些角度切入瞭解是個嚴肅課題。本課程期望從總體與個體面向著手，使學習者掌握基礎，進而對國際政治的理論與實務產生廣泛性瞭解。
International politics emphasizes theory and case studies. Facing various international political phenomena, using those angles to understand them is a serious issue. This course hopes to enable learners to master the basics from the overall and individual aspects, and then develop a broad understanding of the theory and practice of international politics.
