本課程教授基本之矩陣與向量的各項運算，向量空間的結構和在經濟、統計、工程等各領域的應用。
期能強化學生們的數理推導能力、數學寫作方法與抽象化和一般化之重要性，強調每一個數理推論步驟。
修習本課後有足夠專業能力處理一般和線性系統相關的計算，也有足夠的基礎進而修習進階之統計專業課程，如多變量分析與線性模型。
此課程為一學年課程而上學期包含一下內容:

1. SYSTEMS OF LINEAR EQUATIONS.
2. MATRICES.
3. DETERMINANTS.
4. VECTOR SPACES.
5. INNER PRODUCT SPACES.

This course teaches basic matrix and vector operations, the structure of vector space and its applications in economics, statistics, engineering and other fields.
It is expected to strengthen students' mathematical derivation abilities, mathematical writing methods and the importance of abstraction and generalization, emphasizing every mathematical derivation step.
After taking this course, you will have enough professional ability to handle calculations related to general linear systems, and you will also have enough foundation to take advanced statistical courses, such as multivariate analysis and linear models.
