Content introduction
What is “green finance”? Why is green finance important? In order to improve the public's awareness and understanding of green finance and promote the development and application of green finance, this book "Green Finance" was compiled.
Fighting global warming and climate change has become a global consensus. Green finance has taken advantage of this trend and set off an industrial revolution around the world. Since there is no Chinese book on green finance in China, we hope that the publication of this book can convey more useful information to readers who are interested in this.
As global warming becomes increasingly serious, green finance has become an important development direction for financial markets around the world. According to the definition of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP): all financial products and services created with the goal of being "environmentally friendly", including loans, insurance, investments and debt mechanisms, can be called green finance.
The reason why "green finance" is important is to assist public and private enterprises and non-profit organizations to channel funds into sustainable undertakings and grasp the benefits of "creating considerable benefits and benefiting the environment" so that enterprises can upgrade, transform and operate sustainably; and help governments and enterprises better understand the importance and role of green finance. It can also be used to promote international exchanges and cooperation and promote the development of the global green financial market, so as to formulate and implement financial decisions consistent with sustainable values. It can also help the general public acquire knowledge and skills related to green economy and participate in solving the crisis of global warming and climate change. This is also the original intention of the author in writing "Green Finance".
