本課程將協助同學建構對⺠法的基本認識，並了解重要關於⺠法的議題，同學於課程進⾏中將被要求探究與⺠法各該編章相關之法律，並透過個案討論的過程，同學必須學習以法律作為分析事件之⼯具。This course will help students to construct basic understanding of the law and understand important issues about the law. During the course, students will be asked to explore the laws related to the chapters of the law, and through the process of discussing the case, Students must learn to use law as a tool to analyze events.
民法在於解決私法糾紛，即與公權力之運作無關。
人民之日常生活，無不與民法息息相關。諸如買到凶宅、泡水車；學生租賃房屋，房東不是所有權人。本課程在於使同學如何成立一個合法的法律關係，避免日後語意不清，徒增困擾。例如當事人資格，各種法律關係之要件，法律之立法精神。建立基本法律之邏輯觀念，破除以訛傳訛之訊息。同學有了民法基礎，對於其他之法律如商事法、消費者保護法，當可舉一而反三。民法要思考、要累積，非一日可成。同學不可心存僥倖之心，臨陣磨槍，不亮也不光。
