日本統治時代、日本語で書かれた文学作品を読むことを通して、植民地支配とは何か、近代化とは何か、といった大きなテーマを考える機会にしたいと考えています。
1920年代から30年代にかけて、恋愛・結婚をめぐる小説が台湾出身の書き手によって非常に多く書かれました。内容や主題は様々ですが、台湾の近代化のなかで育った世代が、家が結婚相手を決めるという台湾社会の慣習に抑圧を感じはじめたことが背景にあります。今学期はこれらの小説を取り上げて精読し、日本の植民地支配下での恋愛、婚姻が持つ社会的な意味を考えます。

本課程以臺灣日治時期的文學作品為主，來探討作品中所呈現的文學創作與歷史、社會、政治、思想等的關係。透過解讀以及審視作品和讀者之間所建構出來的文化現象，進而反思、回顧過去，拓展出一個多元的文化視野，藉此反觀臺灣與日本之間的關係。
This course focuses on literary works during the Japanese reign of Taiwan, and explores the relationship between literary creation and history, society, politics, and thought presented in the works. By interpreting the cultural phenomena constructed between reading and reviewing the works and readers, we then reflect on and look back on the past and expanding a diverse cultural vision to reflect on the relationship between Taiwan and Japan.
