歷史地理學是探索歷史時期各種地理現象的演變及其和人們的生產勞動、社會活動的相互影響，它的學科性質是屬於現代地理學的一支，且是歷史學、地理學的輔助學科。課程中透過史料及相關論文之閱讀，並在課堂上加以討論，期使修課同學瞭解中國歷史各個時期之地理相關問題，建立初步的中國歷史地理知識。全學年課程分為五大主題：「什麼是歷史地理學」、「中國歷史地理學的發展」、「傳統輿地典籍介紹與選讀」、「歷史自然地理」、「歷史人文地理」。其中「歷史自然地理」與「歷史人文地理」乃藉取地理學的子科目區分，故「歷史人文地理」項下可再依授課時數之須求，細分子題，如「政治地理」、「經濟地理」、「文化地理」、「軍事地理」等，可彈性調整學期中並藉論文摘要、書評及學期報告之習作，加強同學思考與寫作之能力。Historical geography is to explore the evolution of various geographical phenomena in the historical period and their mutual influence with human production and social activities. Its academic nature is a branch of modern geography and is an auxiliary subject in history and geography. During the course, we read historical materials and related articles and discussed them in the course, so that students in the course can understand the geographical related issues of various periods of Chinese history and establish a preliminary knowledge of Chinese history. The annual course of the whole school is divided into five major themes: "What is historical geography", "The development of Chinese historical geography", "Introduction and selection of traditional geography classics", "Historical natural geography", and "Historical human geography". Among them, "Historical Natural Geography" and "Historical Geography" are divided into sub-subjects of geography. Therefore, under the "Historical Geography" item, you can further follow the requirements of the number of courses, such as "Political Geography", "Economic geography", "cultural geography", "military geography", etc. can be used to adjust the writing during the period of study and use abstracts, reviews and reporting during the study period to enhance the ability of students to think and write.
