戲曲藝術結合文學、歷史、音樂、舞蹈與表演，是立體的、綜合的藝術呈現，本實作課為台積電文教基金會贊助、國光劇團與東海大學中文系協助規劃與執行的「校園戲曲傳承計畫」，將由國光劇團專業京劇演員師資群傳幫帶，親領學生投入表演實踐。以傳統經典劇目《春草闖堂》為範本，由國光劇團專業京劇演員師資群親授京劇唱念作表，進行肢體、發聲、角色、音樂、唱腔、服裝等環節之演練培訓。由演員、排練等劇場實務工作者，向學生全方位地實地傳授京劇表演藝術，期能更深化紮根地達到實踐戲曲傳承在校園，為臺灣的京劇未來式，推動更輻射的傳播，讓校園的學生演員吸引更多的校園年輕學生，重新看見戲曲文學之美，豐厚人文生活底蘊。
本學期修課學生需搭配「古典戲曲」一起選修，「古典戲曲」著重戲曲審美藝術與劇本分析的知識基礎，實作課則進一步安排戲曲表演實作課程；主要學習的劇碼是有「天下第一喜劇」之稱的《春草闖堂》，這學期學習的內涵為第一場「巧遇」。
課程將集中在六週之內完成，實際上課時段為週五下午13:00-16:00，具體上課日期為：09/13、10/04、10/18、11/01、11/15、11/29，欲選修同學務必空出這些時段，才不會錯過每一次精彩的課程。Opera art combines literature, history, music, dance and performance, and is a three-dimensional and comprehensive artistic presentation. This practical course is sponsored by the TSMC Cultural and Educational Foundation, and assisted by the Guoguang Theater Company and the Chinese Department of Tunghai University in the planning and execution of the "Campus Opera Inheritance Project" "Painting" will be taught by professional Peking opera actors and teachers from the Guoguang Theater Company, and will lead students to engage in performance practice. Taking the traditional classic play "Spring Grass in the Hall" as a model, a group of professional Peking opera actors and teachers from the Guoguang Theater Company will personally teach Peking opera singing and performance, and conduct drills and training in body, voice, role, music, singing, costume and other aspects. Practical theater workers such as actors and rehearsals teach students the art of Peking Opera in an all-round way. It is hoped that the inheritance of opera can be more deeply rooted in the campus, promote more radiant dissemination for the future of Peking Opera in Taiwan, and let the campus Student actors attract more young students on campus, re-see the beauty of opera and literature, and enrich the cultural heritage of life.
Students taking courses this semester need to take "Classical Opera" as an elective. "Classical Opera" focuses on the knowledge base of the aesthetic art of opera and script analysis. The practical class further arranges practical courses on opera performance; the main dramas studied are "The World" "Spring Grass", known as the "No. 1 Comedy", the connotation of this semester's study is the first "chance encounter".
The course will be completed within six weeks. The actual class period is from 13:00 to 16:00 on Friday afternoon. The specific class dates are: 09/13, 10/04, 10/18, 11/01, 11/15, On 11/29, students who want to take electives must make sure to spare these time slots so as not to miss any exciting courses.
