本課程將涵蓋西方劇場史，並將重點放在（一）希臘悲劇、（二）莎士比亞與法國新古典主義，以及（三）現代主義劇場與當代劇場，在課程中將會閱讀歷史資料以及相應劇本，並且會搭配當代的演出資料，希望讓修課者一方面掌握西方劇場史中的重要知識，並理解劇場史與當代舞台展演的關聯。

This course will cover the history of Western dramas, and focus on (1) Greek tragedy, (2) Shakespeare and French neoclassicalism, and (3) Modernist dramas and contemporary dramas. During the course, we will read historical data and corresponding dramas, and will be accompanied by contemporary performance data. We hope that the trainees can master the important knowledge in the history of Western dramas on the one hand and understand the relationship between drama history and contemporary stage performances.
