陳其寬建築師是東海大學創校初期校園規劃的重要擘畫者之一,也是東海大學建築系創系的系主任。2021年適逢陳先生百歲冥誕,又遇到東海校園早期建築物邁入新階段的契機(包括:1. 重要建築已指定登錄為古蹟、歷史建築,早期校園範圍將納入文化景觀;2. 郵局剛遷出校園,亟需研擬活化再利用郵局舊址及周邊環境的空間對策),為建築研究所的同學們提供了一個實習與實踐的真實場域。
延續同學們上個學期在東海校園文資耕耘、思考保存管理維護計畫所奠定的基礎,本學期設計課將從不同的視角切入東海校園文資保存與再利用的議題。預期成果包括:
1. 建立一部屬於東海大學校園的《模式語言》(詳細條目待課程上公佈、討論)
2. 結合繪畫與建築共同探索陳其寬建築師的設計思維
3. 提出對舊郵局、信箱間、銘賢堂廣場一帶未來活化利用的空間策略Chen Qibai Architecture Master is one of the important outlines of the campus planning in the early days of the founding of Donghai University, and is also the director of the Department of Architecture at Donghai University. In 2021, Mr. Chen was a hundred years old and encountered a new deed in the early buildings of Donghai Campus (including: 1. Important buildings have been designated as ancient and historical buildings, and the scope of the early campus will be included in the cultural landscape; 2 . The Mail Bureau has just left the campus and urgently needs to study the measures to revitalize and reuse the Mail Bureau's old site and surrounding environment, providing a practical and practical real-life field for the students of the Architectural Institute.
Continuing the foundation laid by the students' cultural resources in Donghai Campus during the last period, the design courses in this period will enter the topic of preservation and reuse of Donghai Campus' cultural resources from different perspectives. Expected results include:
1. Establish a "Model Language" belonging to Donghai University Campus (details are to be published and discussed in the course)
2. Combining paintings and architecture to explore Chen Qibai’s design thinking
