一、探討公共藝術的多元內容與表現方式，建立公共藝術的美學觀，提高公眾審美文化品質與生活。
二、培養公共藝術創作與研究人才，內容包括公共空間研究、實地考察、創意構思和分析實踐技能等。
三、採取案例實作方式，讓研究生直接參與校園或社區公共藝術製作，並分析比較國內外現有的公共藝術作品，發掘其中的可能與問題。以藝術創作者的角度去思考公共藝術應該有的定位，以及其中的價值究竟何在。並實際設計規劃，讓學生更瞭解在創作上該如何去表現與詮釋公共藝術。1. Explore the diverse content and expression methods of public art, establish the aesthetic concept of public art, and improve the public’s aesthetic cultural quality and life.
2. Cultivate public art creation and research talents, including public space research, fieldwork, creative conception and analytical practical skills.
3. Adopt case implementation methods to allow graduate students to directly participate in campus or community public art production, analyze and compare existing public art works at home and abroad, and explore the possibilities and problems. Think about the positioning of public art from the perspective of an art creator, and what its value is. Practical design planning is also provided to allow students to better understand how to express and interpret public art in creation.
