健康與病痛社會學(Sociology of Health and Illness)具備廣泛的研究關懷，如 個人健康、疾病分布、醫療經驗、醫療產業、醫護制度、身體經驗等面向皆是 此領域所熱切討論的議題。隨著健康社會學五十年來的蓬勃發展與本身的議題 多元性，此領域蘊含的各式提問亦逐漸各自累積出獨特的典範取向與豐富傳統， 並值得獨立討論之。因此，本課程將以健康社會學的核心提問—健康不平等 (Health Inequality)—為授課軸線，帶領同學了解此議題的意義性、既有發現 與對應的研究方法，並特別針對工作面向延伸討論。
The society of Health and Illness has extensive research and development, such as personal health, disease distribution, medical experience, medical industry, medical care system, physical experience, etc., which are all hotly discussed in this field. With the vigorous development of healthy society over the past 50 years and its own diversity of topics, the various questions contained in this area have gradually accumulated unique classical orientations and rich traditions, and are worth discussing independently. Therefore, this course will take the core of the Health Inequality—as the teaching axis, leading students to understand the meaning of this topic, existing research methods, and specifically discuss the work-oriented approach. .
