本課程目標，是藉由後社會主義(post-socialism)的視角，來分析中國大陸自改革開放至今，有關地方政府結構與政治的變遷，並分析在中國農村推動基層民主試驗，所產生效應。一方面是介紹中國大陸在經歷改革開放之後，對其採取基層民主的試驗之影響，另一方面亦要介紹基層民主對於中國地方政府的職能轉換與地方經濟政策選擇的影響，進行深入淺出的說明，同時亦透過上述分析，來檢視中國大陸的民主化問題。The goal of this course is to analyze the changes in local government structure and politics from the perspective of post-socialism, and to analyze the effectiveness of promoting basic democratic experiments in rural areas in China since the reform and opening up of China. On the one hand, it introduces the impact of the mainland of China on its experience of basic democracy after the reform and opening up. On the other hand, it also needs to introduce the impact of basic democracy on the conversion of the vocational ability of Chinese local governments and the choice of local economic policies, and provide in-depth and pure explanations. At the same time, through the above analysis, we also examined the democratization problem in mainland China.
