This course focuses on product designers, users or consumers, explores the role of industrial products and emotional factors in the design field, and understands research topics and practical methods related to product factors and emotional conjunction. Learning this course can lay a good research foundation from research topic establishment, theoretical structure, research design, research methods and research evaluation, while increasing understanding of human psychology and behavior, and improving the strategic application of product design.
The beginning of concern in the industrial design field about the environment is derived from reflection and review of the relationship between "man-machine/object-circle". Based on the concept of industrially designed "people-machine/object-circle" to view the meaning of "environment", we can see that what supports all our lives is not just a single requirement in the natural environment. We can see from many daily life situations. It is based on the natural environment conditions, and then through various "artificial" environment structures, it supports people to carry out various activities and meet their needs in all aspects.
Therefore, the "environment" referred to in this course is to define it as "all the conditions surrounding our bodies", and our lives are "psychological environments (software) formed by the mutual relationship between people. ” and the "physical environment (hardware)" formed by artificial objects or spaces jointly construct the overall environment. People are social animals, and everyone is inseparable from the surrounding environment. The objects or spaces created by people are not only to meet the physical needs or physiological comfort of people, but also stimulate their emotional feelings and affect their psychological activities. The relationship between people and the environment is not only to satisfy their physical functions, but also to stimulate their emotional feelings and affect their psychological activities. It will even change the appearance of objects or space creation.
This course will focus on the collective reading of environmental psychology books and related documents. Through the process of literature reading and joint discussion, a basic understanding of the knowledge department of environmental psychology is established. In addition, through actual case studies and analysis such as environmental behavior observation, academic managers in environmental psychology can talk to the current situation of the living environment. This course not only learns how to examine the relationship between "people-machine/object-circle" from the perspective of "environmental psychology", but also hopes to explore how people can gain through comprehensive discussions on social, cultural and other related aspects to explore how people can gain in interaction with the environment through comprehensive discussions on social, cultural and other aspects. Physiological and psychological "comfort" to serve as a conceptual thinking and argumentative basis for designing products, objects or space environments in the future.
