WSP是WHO為提升出水安全，達成「從集水區到消費者」(from catchment to consumer)之通盤檢討以降低風險，建立水質確保技術，配合污染源管制，以達全時確保水安全目標的世界級重要的水質源管理策略。
1.採課堂講授與個案研討方式交叉進行。每堂課由業師以投影片方式講解內容，同學可隨時針對該個案進行研討；課程啟動前需先分組，期間針對所授課內容，鎖定擬研究主題進行問題確認、蒐集資料及模擬WSP推動小組討論實作流程，並於期間進行口頭簡報及繳交期末書面報告，以驗證所學。
2.修習本課程可掌握台灣地區最新水質議題，並以使用者角度審視用水安全，相當具有實用價值。
