The purpose of this course is to provide the basis for a deeper understanding of the structures of organic compounds and the mechanisms of organic reactions. The level is aimed at advanced undergraduates and beginning graduate students. The goals are to solidify the student’s understanding of basic concepts provided by an introduction to organic chemistry and to present more information and detail than can be presented in the first course in organic chemistry.This course will focus on the discussion of the commonly-seem and uncommon organic reaction mechanisms. 有機反應機構乃是用來描述有機化學變化所經由的全部基元反應。反應機構中應詳述每一步驟轉化之過程，其中包括過渡狀態的形成，鍵的斷裂、生成，以及各步驟的相對速率快慢等等。雖然有時化學變化所發生的轉變可能很明顯，但為了探明這一過程的反應機構，往往需要設計實驗來驗證。本課程除介紹常見有機反應之反應機構外，並訓練學生推演正確或合乎邏輯的反應機構，以及培養同學設計用以證明反應機構實驗的能力。
The organic reaction mechanism is used to describe all the primitive reactions caused by organic chemical changes. The reaction mechanism should describe the process of each step of transformation, including the formation of transition state, the breakage and generation of keys, as well as the relative speed of each step, etc. Although the changes that occur with chemical changes may be obvious at times, in order to find out the reaction mechanism of this process, it is often necessary to design experiments to verify. In addition to introducing common organic reaction reaction institutions, this course also trains students to deduce correct or logical reaction institutions, and cultivates the ability to be designed to prove the actual experience of reaction institutions.
