This course is intended to help students increase English language skills such as listening, speaking, and reading while investigating the world. In alternating weeks, students will listen to a set of meaningful songs in English and watch a YA (Young Adult) film (public-viewing edition). The input of songs or a YA movie in each class will be followed by comprehension exercises and then by learner-centered discussion on topics brought up by the movie/songs introduced previously. In short, the purpose of this class is to motivate students to study and enhance their English through exposure to popular music and YA movies, alternative learning sources relevant to their lives.
