本課程設計以喜愛「細讀經典原著」之學生為授課對象。
《紅樓夢》作者虛構了「大觀園」此一理想世界,苦心經營以之表徵賈寶玉和眾女兒的生命中唯一且絕對意義的詩性空間、塵俗中的蜃樓樂園,歷來讀者眼光或因這座花園的樂園意義,或受寶黛浪漫情緣所吸引,常不免忽略了園內園外尚同時運行著的現實世界。在小說中,這座園林的建造基地是利用了寧榮二府的舊園子起蓋,本就無法自書中述及的現實世界徹底斷開,「理想」和「現實」於構設初時顯然就密切地糾纏在一起。
事實上,作者對於發生在成人世界、現實世界的種種艱難,同樣費盡心機地刻劃,其筆墨渲染下的園外世界雖代表骯髒、墮落、污濁等負面意義,恰與保護眾女兒的堡壘「大觀園」之封閉性與清淨感相對,然而二者間存有的卻是相互補襯之義,換句話說,唯有同時把握住二者,才能稱得是掌握作者的創作企圖、貫穿全書的重要線索,以及作品內在之完整性。小說家張愛玲有段評論紅樓的文字寫到:「散場是時間的悲劇,少年時代一過,就被逐出伊甸園。家中發生變故,已經是發生在庸俗黯淡的成人的世界裡。」「抄家」事件是百年家族面對皇權行使、屬於政治上的橫暴外力,其對於大觀園理想性的破滅所引發的文學效果固然顯著,然另一隱性、靜態且更為強大的悲劇重心卻是「時間」,時間促使少男少女長大成年,不僅寶玉必須遷出園子,少女們也要出嫁。家族衰敗的潦倒之罪、裙釵風流雲散的無可奈何,最終引度賈寶玉出家的結局,關於紅塵俗世裡的幻緣和快樂不能永久依恃,此刻的他已經懂得。
本學期課程規劃,即是從《紅樓夢》小說人物在成長過程及成年後的生命關卡、個別生命面臨的劇烈變化,安排了:讀書志業、欲望調節、身分階級、管理危機和禮法秩序等四大主題,結合相關小說回目進行細讀,期克服經典因時代、文化隔閡,或個人閱讀喜好等因素造成的偏食;教師亦將引導同學立足現世的生命經驗和生活基底回應經典,以現代眼光和個人類似的生命情境進行議題審視和反思,品讀作者筆下兼涵社會各層級身分之弱勢處境,解讀夾藏在日常現實生活裡的各式世情與悲憫。

"Ideal" and "reality" are inseparable at the beginning of the construction. Apparently they are closely intertwined.
In fact, the author also painstakingly depicts the various difficulties that occur in the adult world and the real world. Although the world outside the garden represented by his pen and ink represents negative meanings such as filth, depravity, and filth, it is exactly in line with the desire to protect the daughters. The sin of the family's downfall, the helplessness of his wife's affair, and the ending that finally led Jia Baoyu to become a monk. At this moment, he already understood that he could not rely on the illusions and happiness in the mortal world forever.
The course planning for this semester is based on the growth process of the characters in the novel "Dream of Red Mansions" and the life stages after adulthood, as well as the drastic changes faced by individual lives. It is arranged in four categories: reading career, desire adjustment, status and class, management crisis and etiquette order. A major theme, combined with the review of relevant novels for careful reading, in the hope of overcoming the barriers between classics due to era and culture, Or a partial eclipse caused by factors such as personal reading preferences; teachers will also guide students to respond to classics based on their current life experience and life foundation, examine and reflect on issues from a modern perspective and personal life situations, and read the author's works that include identities at all levels of society This is a vulnerable situation, interpreting all kinds of world conditions and compassion hidden in daily real life.
