一連串工業革命的發展,一方面擴大了人類改造自然的活動領域,提高了人類挑戰大自然的能力,從而把人類社會的物質文明和精神文明推進到一個前所未有的新高度;另一方面也帶來一系列棘手的社會問題,如:生態環境的惡化、自然資源和能源的過度消耗、高科技技術的濫用以及核災難的威脅等,這些問題難以控制的惡性發展史人類的處境受到越來越嚴重的困擾,成為舉世管住的全球議題。本課程旨在嘗試透過課程講授、相關電影、Ted's演講引導學生認識一連串的工業革命如何把人類從人力、獸力時代依序帶入機械時代、電力時代、數位化時代及智能時代,並認識近三個世紀來人類科技文明的突飛猛進,進而透過議題引導及小組討論讓學生作深入地探討四次工業革命為世界及台灣所帶來的正、負面影響,並思考人類潛在的未來及可能面對的態度。The development of industrial revolutions has expanded the field of human activities to transform nature, improved human ability to challenge nature, and pushed the material and spiritual civilization of human society to an unprecedented new height; on the other hand, it also brought a series of difficult Social problems, such as the malignification of the ecological environment, excessive consumption of natural resources and energy, the use of high-tech technologies, and the threat of nuclear disasters, are increasingly difficult to control.
