統計方法是社會科學研究中常用的方法之一，本課程的主要目的就是讓同學了解統計可以"應用"來做什麼。本課程將以簡單、生活化、合乎邏輯的方式，闡述統計如何被應用來分析問題，並透過數據提出解答。課程上會盡量避免艱深的內容和數學推導，學習的重點是讓同學獲得正確的統計應用方法。本課程將藉由課堂講授與實際操作SPSS，建立學生的應用統計能力，以分析社會科學相關問題。
基本上本課程包含：
1. 敘述統計：關於數據資料的描述及整理。
2. 機率：統計推論的基礎。
3. 統計推論：從樣本推估母體的統計方法。
4. 假設檢定與變異數分析：利用統計進行分析與判斷的方法
5. 迴歸分析：利用統計進行社會現象的關聯分析
6. SPSS操作

The statistical method is one of the commonly used methods in social science research. The main purpose of this course is to let students understand what statistical method can be "applied" to do. This course will describe how the statistics can be applied to analyze problems in a simple, lifelike and logical way, and provide answers through data. During the course, you will avoid deep content and mathematical guidance as much as possible. The focus of learning is to enable students to obtain the correct statistical application methods. This course will use classroom lectures and practical operation of SPSS to establish students' application statistical capabilities to analyze social science-related problems.
