創業的發展越來越多元，除了一般服務業、製造業之外，還有技術創新、或是文創等發展。而社會創新更加提供了創業的社會永續主軸，亦即從關懷社會中，善用企業管理的技術與模式，去達到對於社會底層弱勢、夾層痛苦，或是外層疏離的關懷、接納與共創。
本課程介紹基礎的概念，並佐以實體的田野觀察，讓學生瞭解並開發創業的新方向，以及創新的新層次。為能深化學生對社會需求的體認與了解，本課程要求學生應從社會各階層的面向進行深度觀察，以探索與思考應如何提供適當的協助，並藉此開創新的事業想法。The development of the industry is becoming more and more diverse.
