對台灣海洋生物及生態現況有基本了解。並且配合野外實習與調查可以讓學生接觸到實際的海洋生物。透過教師的課程介紹及野外講解，可以讓學生清楚了解海洋生物與人類之間的關連，進而關心海洋生物環境。課程分別由卓逸民老師、溫國彰老師共同執行。
主要課程活動會在五月或六月利用星期五、六、日三天，前往墾丁進行海洋生物（脊椎與無脊椎動物）觀察，中間會停留台南七股溼地，到達墾丁將探索附近海洋生態系，如墾丁珊瑚礁潮間帶與亞潮帶等。
因此修課同學盡可能排開星期五的課程抑或是需要在出野外那週五向其他課程請假，出野外前，將會在游泳池進行浮潛訓練及野外調查模擬。

The main course activities will go to Kantin for marine life (spine and invertebral) inspection in May or June on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In the middle, we will stay in Qigu, Tainan, and visit Kantin to explore nearby marine ecology. , such as the tide belts and tide belts of the Coral Reef.
Therefore, students who take the courses may schedule Friday or ask for leave from other courses on Friday when they go out of the field. Before leaving the field, they will conduct diving training and field survey simulations in the swimming pool.
