If the 20th century was an era of classified experts, then the 21st century must be an interdisciplinary era in which various disciplines come together again. As a door to all knowledge, whether philosophy also points to the possibility of cross-field connections is the direction this course is trying to work towards. The eternal portrait of Socrates as a philosopher allows us to know that philosophy is not only limited to closed-door speculation, but also focuses on continuous actions that intervene in the real world. This course aims at "unity of knowledge and action", bringing philosophical theory out of the ivory tower of the college and developing an internship course of industry-university cooperation. It not only can deepen the practical work of all walks of life, but also hopes to start observing the pulse of today's world. , combined with the theorizing ability of philosophy, while understanding the world of others, extending the tentacles of philosophical reflection outward. Through internship courses, the internal world of philosophy and the external environment of society are combined to create possible opportunities for social philosophization at the intersection of theory and practice.
The following are the "Key Points for Implementing Internships for Philosophy Students of Tunghai University", please refer to:
1. In order to cultivate students' professional abilities and practical experience and encourage students to enter corporate internships, the Department of Philosophy of Tunghai University has specially formulated the internship points for students in this department (referred to as these points).
2. The internship objects mentioned in this key point include all students in the bachelor’s class of this department.
3. The internship course in this department is 1 credit and is taught by full-time teachers. During the internship period, students must practice in the unit for 60 hours and the internship score must reach 60 points or above before credits will be awarded.
4. The internship credits mentioned in this key point can be divided into internship first (every winter and summer vacation) and then credits are awarded (the next semester), or internship during the semester. Students who have completed the internship must choose the [Philosophy Internship] course at the beginning of the semester, otherwise they will be deemed to have given up this credit. Other students who have not participated in the summer internship should not take this course, otherwise the course will be calculated as zero points and affect the semester grade point average. Students who take advantage of winter and summer rates to participate in internships must reserve course credits for the next semester in advance to avoid exceeding the school's course credit limit.
5. When students conduct off-campus internships, they must submit the "Student Off-campus Internship Memo" before the internship before they can go to the internship.
6. Before the start of the internship, convene students to hold a pre-departure briefing to explain the workplace environment of the internship institution and internship-related precautions so that the intern students can understand and follow them. The department office and teachers must provide necessary assistance and guidance.
7. Attendance requirements:
(1) Students must agree with the internship institution in advance on the internship attendance date and abide by the agreement to attend as scheduled.
(2) If students must take leave due to illness or special accidents during the internship period or are unable to report as scheduled, they must report to the internship institution for approval and apply for leave in accordance with regulations.
8. Students’ off-campus internships must be reviewed by their departments before they can go to internship institutions.
9. When students terminate their internship for any reason during the internship period, they must fill out the "Internship Termination Consent Form" and complete the withdrawal procedures only after obtaining the consent of the internship institution, teachers and parents.
10. If an intern student cancels or terminates the internship without reason and fails to complete the withdrawal procedures as required, the internship grade will be calculated as zero points and will be dealt with in accordance with school regulations. If you encounter difficulties or other abnormal situations during the internship, you can coordinate and resolve them through the department office or contact the teacher.
11. Teachers must be responsible for supervising students’ internships, evaluating their performance, and evaluating and reviewing their learning effectiveness during their internship period. Internship students must submit their work diary and at least 10 photos (including the internship environment, activities, colleagues, etc., each photo must include students) and a slide or video composed of these photos during the midterm. At the end of the semester, at least 15 pages of slides (including company introduction, work content, internship experience, etc.) must be submitted.
12. After the student’s internship is completed, the supervisor of the internship institution will give a score to the internship student (sent back to the department before the end of the semester), which will account for 50% of the internship score; in addition, the department’s teaching teacher will verify that the student has actually completed the previous requirements. And participate in the results presentation held by the department as a reference for the internship score. This part also accounts for 50% of the internship score. The two items are combined into the total score, and the passing score is 60 points.
13. Relevant materials and forms during the student’s internship period should be properly kept for future reference.
