唐、宋時期的詩歌發展，典範林立，風格繁富多樣，是古典詩歌的黃金時代。同一時期，禪宗也逐漸成為獨具特色的思想體系，眾家爭鳴。唐代詩人云「詩無僧字格還卑」、「禪外求詩妙」，宋代蘇軾則說「暫借好詩消永夜，每逢佳處則參禪」，可見詩與禪是唐、宋詩人進行藝術創作、安頓自我不可缺的領域。與佛禪相關的活動，也成為詩人生活中不可少的一部分。本課程一方面閱讀詩僧的作品，如寒山、皎然等；一方面也選讀唐宋重要詩人如王維、白居易、蘇軾等作家的禪詩，。以此認識唐宋詩歌與禪學的深刻關係，習得詩、禪相融之中的藝術思維與人生智慧。The development of poetry in the Tang and Song Dynasties was characterized by numerous models and diverse styles. It was the golden age of classical poetry. During the same period, Zen Buddhism gradually became a unique system of thought, with many schools of thought contending. The poets of the Tang Dynasty said that "poems are humble without the character of monks" and "seeking the beauty of poetry outside of Zen". Su Shi of the Song Dynasty said, "For the time being, I will spend the night with good poems, and I will practice Zen whenever I find a good place." It can be seen that poetry and Zen are the two It is an indispensable area for Song poets to create art and settle themselves. Activities related to Buddhist Zen have also become an indispensable part of the poet's life. On the one hand, this course reads the works of poet monks, such as Han Shan, Jiao Ran, etc.; on the other hand, it also reads Zen poems by important poets of the Tang and Song Dynasties, such as Wang Wei, Bai Juyi, Su Shi and other writers. In this way, we can understand the profound relationship between Tang and Song poetry and Zen, and acquire the artistic thinking and life wisdom in the integration of poetry and Zen.
