本課程介紹漢語語音學以及與此相關的延伸議題。課程的設計，首先講述語音學的基本知識，從音高、音長、音強、音色等方面，使同學逐步理解語音的各種性質與漢語系統的主要特徵。其次，講述音素、音位與音節結構等語音、音系學之語言學概念，並以此討論國語拼音方案（注音符號）的設計準則。第三，將依聲母、韻母、聲調的次序，解說國語的語音系統和音系特點。此外，本課程將從「捲舌聲母的拼音設計」帶領學生觀察臺灣特有的華語語音特徵。並於課程末段，向同學介紹近年「對外華語語音教學」的研究心得與當前教育部對對外華語語音教學的規劃和相關可運用的資源。
本課程預期目標為：
1.掌握漢語語音的拼音系統
2.掌握華語語音的發音部位、發音方法及音節結構特點
3.觀察臺灣華語的在地獨特性
4.認識對外華語教學的相關議題

This course introduces Chinese phonetics and related extended topics. The course is designed to first introduce the basic knowledge of phonetics, including pitch, length, intensity, timbre, etc., so that students can gradually understand the various properties of phonetics and the main features of the Chinese system. Secondly, the linguistic concepts of phonetics and phonology such as phonemes, phonemes and syllable structures are introduced, and the design criteria of the Mandarin Pinyin scheme (phonetic symbols) are discussed. Third, the phonetic system and phonological characteristics of Mandarin will be explained in the order of initial consonants, finals, and tones. In addition, this course will lead students to observe the unique Chinese phonetic characteristics of Taiwan from the "pinyin design of retroflex initial consonants". At the end of the course, the students were introduced to the research results of "teaching Chinese pronunciation as a foreign language" in recent years, as well as the current Ministry of Education's plan for teaching Chinese pronunciation as a foreign language and related available resources.
The expected goals of this course are:
1. Master the pinyin system of Chinese phonetics
2. Master the pronunciation parts, pronunciation methods and syllable structure characteristics of Chinese pronunciation
3. Observe the local uniqueness of Taiwanese Chinese
4. Understand issues related to teaching Chinese as a foreign language
