3 Space practical concepts This course hopes to introduce the overview of the evolution of artistic history and social thought, so that students can have a more profound and rational understanding and use media for the creation of complex media.
這是一門理論課程。複合媒體的認知基礎來自於當代觀念藝術系統,根源於杜象及達達,企圖打破藝術與生活的界線;亦受到日本50年代具體群(Gutai group)事件的影響,主要是指興起於1970年代的西方當代藝術類型,以裝置藝術(Installation art)為主。混用各種媒材及現成物(ready-made),直接使用展場空間,創造感知和或概念性的經驗,故涵蓋特定場域的藝術(Site-specific art)、地景藝術(Land Art)。使用的媒材包含了自然材料到新媒體,如錄影、聲音、行為、電腦以及網路等。
本課程需從概念藝術系統出發,講述當代複合媒體/裝置藝術的歷史,透過作品之介紹及討論,讓學生了解當代複合媒體及裝置藝術之創作觀念及型態,作為當代藝術發展之獨特路徑;並使學生探討、思考媒體特性和與傳統美學的差異,以發展出創作或論述的潛力。
This is a theory course. The cognitive foundation of complex media comes from contemporary conceptual art systems, rooted in Du Xiang and Dada, in an attempt to break the boundaries between art and life; it is also influenced by the Gutai group incident in Japan in the 1950s, mainly referring to the contemporary Western art types that emerged in the 1970s, mainly based on installation art. Mix various media and ready-made objects, use the exhibition space directly to create perceptual and conceptual experiences, so it covers the Site-specific art and Land Art of specific fields. The media used includes natural materials to new media, such as recording, sound, behavior, computers, and the Internet.
This course needs to be developed from a conceptual art system to describe the history of contemporary complex media/device art. Through the introduction and discussion of the works, students can understand the creative concepts and patterns of contemporary complex media and device art, as a unique path to the development of contemporary art; and enable students to explore and think about the differences between media characteristics and traditional aesthetics, so as to develop the potential of creation or discussion.
