【課程目標】
一、介紹近代至當代東西方藝術交流在藝術表現型態上的交互影響，做一宏觀式的比較藝術史學訓練。
二、擴大學生藝術視野，從世界藝術史中建構自我文化定位和思考未來創作方向。
三、培養學生主動發現問題之能力，於術科創作之外並重學科，期以達到相輔相成之功。
四、協助發現學生文字工作能力，訓練藝術文字工作基本功夫，建立未來獨立研究之理論基礎。
【課程內涵】
一、課程「東方」部份鎖定漢文化圈之遠東地區，以中華文化、台灣美術為主體。
二、介紹東西方藝術發展之大略型態，引導比較東西方藝術於形式與思想觀念間的異同。
三、探討近百年來東西方藝術表現互為取用之現象與發展概況。
四、期末做一比較藝術史分組研究報告。研究報告分為「課堂口頭報告」與「書面研究報告」二部份，「書面研究報告」於期末匯整列印繳交。【Course Objectives】
1. Introduce the interactive influence of Eastern and Western art exchanges on artistic expression forms from modern to contemporary times, and provide a macro-level comparative art history training.
2. Expand students’ artistic horizons, construct their own cultural positioning and think about future creative directions from world art history.
3. Cultivate students' ability to proactively discover problems, and pay equal attention to disciplines in addition to technical creation, in order to achieve mutually reinforcing effects.
4. Help discover students' writing skills, train them in basic artistic writing skills, and establish a theoretical basis for future independent research.
【Course content】
1. The "Oriental" part of the course focuses on the Far East region of the Han cultural circle, with Chinese culture and Taiwanese art as the main subjects.
2. Introduce the general pattern of the development of Eastern and Western art, and guide the comparison of the similarities and differences between the forms and ideas of Eastern and Western art.
3. Discuss the phenomenon and development overview of mutual appropriation of Eastern and Western artistic expressions in the past century.
4. Make a comparative art history group research report at the end of the semester. The research report is divided into two parts: "Oral Class Report" and "Written Research Report". The "Written Research Report" will be compiled, printed and submitted at the end of the term.
