教育目標 Course Target

This course aims to map a diachronic development of Social Work as a profession in academia and practice approaches focusing on indigenous field. The indigenous social work has been put on the stage of professional discourse laying on democracy movement, the raising of Taiwan Subject awareness and muticulturalism since 1990s in Taiwan. Under these circumstances, the discourse and intervention of indigenous work in social welfare system have been shifted from problem-centered to strength, ethnic and cultural care. In addition to the turning point of rights is from individualized to collectiveness in terms of cultural and environmental collective rights. As theory of ethnic service and indigenous social work were changing its value and practical skill, the logic of care is also turning its core to decolonized metalogy. We will follow the transformative experience in New Zealand and Australia, the outstanding performance in development of indigenous social work, to explore the way of our own service for front line practice and unique discourse in Taiwan. The main purpose of course is to enhance the thinking and skilling of specific field apart from mainstream society to those who are concerning the issue of indigenous social work in Taiwan. This course aims to map a diachronic development of Social Work as a profession in academia and practice approaches focusing on indigenous field.
