不平等的議題是社會學創始以來所關懷的主要議題之一。原本由區域的社會不平等的議題，隨著全球化的影響，不平等的議題擴張到全球的尺矩。當全球不平等的趨勢如何展開，作為世界的一員，我們該如何來理解這個趨勢？在全球化的當今，財富極端集中，各國思考如何重新分配，把富人的錢分給窮人，然而資金流動日益快速，挑戰國家的行政權力。全球化與不平等的關係是最近學界非常熱門的議題，以嚴格定義來探討近年來的全球化，大約從二戰後開始，它所帶動的經濟活動所產生的各種形式的不平等，包含最近新冠病毒的疫情所衍生的健康不平等，都是各界在評估「全球化」的意義與影響的重要指標。本課程希望透過閱讀相關的出版來了解全球化的運作如何影響改變個人的生存機會，以進一步了解全球化如何形塑社會階層化的過程。The issue of inequality has been one of the main issues that sociology has been concerned about since its inception. Originally an issue of regional social inequality, with the influence of globalization, the issue of inequality has expanded to a global scale. As the trend of global inequality unfolds, how should we as a world understand this trend? In today's era of globalization, wealth is extremely concentrated, and countries are thinking about how to redistribute money from the rich to the poor. However, capital flows are increasingly rapid, challenging the administrative power of the country. The relationship between globalization and inequality has been a very hot topic in academic circles recently. A strict definition will be used to discuss globalization in recent years. Since about the post-World War II period, various forms of inequality have been generated by the economic activities it has driven, including the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The health inequalities derived from the virus epidemic are important indicators for all walks of life to evaluate the meaning and impact of "globalization". This course hopes to understand how the operation of globalization affects and changes individuals' survival chances by reading relevant publications, so as to further understand how globalization shapes the process of social stratification.
