This course is presented to provide graduate students (at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tunghai University) with fundamental aspects of biological treatment processes. An understanding of biological treatment operation requires knowledge in both microbiology and reactor engineering areas. The main objective of this course is to integrate the theoretical and design facets of biological treatment processes such that underlying principles form the basis of engineering design, operation, and optimization. This course is presented to provide graduate students (at the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tunghai University) with fundamental aspects of biological treatment processes.
