台灣塑膠研發、加工技術及相關上中下游產業部落鏈具高度整合性，因而在高分子相關應用、開發及製造具世界矚目地位。中部地區為台灣塑膠產業聚集之處，也成為台灣高分子醫材產業發展及石化塑膠轉型的核心基地。本課程將從產也角度導入，著眼於台灣醫療產業發展、產業競爭探討及升級策略、並介紹醫療器材法規基礎與策略；其次則包括醫療器材產品驗證、特殊表面處理技術、及市場及產業探討等； 再者則介紹台灣目前熱門隱形眼鏡產業、及開創醫材產業新局國際競爭策略。課程並將安排兩次產業參訪行程，讓同學能實際參觀與了解台灣醫療產業。

Taiwan's plastic R&D, processing technology and related upstream, mid-stream and downstream industry chains are highly integrated, and thus have a world-renowned position in polymer-related applications, development and manufacturing. The central region is where Taiwan's plastics industry gathers, and has also become the core base for the development of Taiwan's polymer medical materials industry and the transformation of petrochemical plastics. This course will be introduced from the perspective of industry, focusing on Taiwan's medical industry development, industrial competition discussion and upgrading strategies, and introducing the basis and strategies of medical device regulations; secondly, it will include medical device product verification, special surface treatment technology, and market and industry discussions; thirdly, it will introduce Taiwan's currently popular contact lens industry, and create a new international competition strategy for the medical device industry. The course will arrange two industry visits so that students can actually visit and understand Taiwan’s medical industry.
