本課程為一學年之課程（上學期之教學內容以西方哲學為主，下學期之教學內容以中國哲學為主），課程目標在培養碩專班學生之中西哲學基本知識與能力，引導學生能專就一個專題來進行閱讀與思考，並學習將所學的內容與方法綜合應用於學期報告中，以為日後研究奠定基礎。
