台灣民間宗教與民間信仰在台灣社會有相當大的影響力，是一個重要的新興研究領域，極待學界開發課題，本課程將系統化的介紹此一領域的研究成果，並指引學生未來可能的研究方向。除透過廣泛閱讀幫助學生吸收台灣民間宗教、信仰研究的學界成果外，另外安排資料導讀與田野實作觀察，引導研究生接觸、感受台灣民間宗教、信仰旺盛的生命力。Taiwanese folk religion and folk beliefs have considerable influence on Taiwanese society.
