本課程將帶領同學走進中國古代戲曲史，著重幾個不同階段戲曲對應時代的藝術特色與戲劇主題，包括劇本與蘊藏其中的思想內涵與情感、劇作與演出的形式特色、重要劇作家，戲曲表演美學，以及戲劇活動實踐的場域，舞台與劇場；並觀察與之相對應的社會歷史文化：戲曲如何發生以及戲曲對於社會的影響，藉以建立學生完整的戲劇史觀。除了以戲曲史專著與相關劇本作為主要教材，亦將擇選相關單篇學術論文作為課程延伸討論，藉以訓練研究生書寫與評論學術論文之能力。對於戲曲史的掌握與理解除了擴充與深化關於戲曲與文學史的認識，亦可作為與外國戲劇進行比較討論的基礎。This course will lead students into the history of ancient Chinese opera, focusing on the artistic characteristics and dramatic themes of opera in several different stages corresponding to the era, including scripts and the ideological connotations and emotions contained in them, the formal characteristics of dramas and performances, important playwrights, opera Performance aesthetics, as well as the field of drama activity practice, stage and theater; and observe the corresponding social history and culture: how drama occurs and the impact of drama on society, so as to establish students' complete view of drama history. In addition to using monographs on the history of opera and related scripts as the main teaching materials, relevant single academic papers will also be selected as extended discussions in the course to train graduate students in their ability to write and comment on academic papers. Mastering and understanding the history of opera can not only expand and deepen the understanding of opera and literary history, but also serve as the basis for comparative discussions with foreign dramas.
