中國近代文學本身即是一種過渡形態的文學，針對此時期所提出的文學革命主張，從中研討古典文學轉型至現代文學的過程，是近年學術界極為關注的議題。本課程主要內容為：近代中國與文學的歷史關係探討、近代文學界義、特質以及與現代文學的關係，再由文學史縱向延展至近代文學專題介紹及討論（含蓋中西文化衝撞、翻譯文學、女性文學、傳媒社團與文學、文類〔詩詞、小說、散文〕的轉化、重要文學運動等專題），進而展望近代文學史的研究議題。希望透過本課程達成引發學生研究近代文學議題的興趣，不只奠定其近代文學研究的基礎，也能對近代文學研究有所貢獻，撰寫相關論文。
Modern Chinese literature itself is a transitional form of literature. Focusing on the literary revolution propositions put forward during this period, studying the process of transformation from classical literature to modern literature has become an issue of great concern to academic circles in recent years. The main content of this course is: discussion of the historical relationship between modern China and literature, the definition and characteristics of modern literature, and its relationship with modern literature, and then extends vertically from the history of literature to the introduction and discussion of modern literature topics (including the collision of Chinese and Western cultures, translated literature, Feminist literature, media, associations and literature, transformation of genres (poetry, novels, prose), important literary movements, etc.), and then look forward to research topics in modern literary history. It is hoped that this course will arouse students' interest in studying modern literary issues, not only lay the foundation for their modern literary research, but also contribute to the study of modern literature and write related papers.
