這是東海大學應用物理學系（簡稱應物系）為未來將進入東海大學就讀的物理系新生所規劃開授的「基礎應用數學」課程（也歡迎其他系所或他校學生一同學習）。本課程將以網路授課形式進行，同學們在完成報名後，就可選修這門課。
課程內容是以複習高中數學為主，並且開始介紹微積分課程中將會用到的數學觀念和數學的計算訓練，教材的選擇是以理工為主的應用為前提，並且無論是課程講解、作業或是期中期末考試，都會帶入英文閱讀與英文題目，希望修課的學生可以開始習慣以英文作為未來在大學學習的主要語言。

This is a "Basic Applied Mathematics" course planned and taught by the Department of Applied Physics of Tunghai University (referred to as the Department of Physics) for the freshmen of the Department of Physics who will enter Tunghai University in the future (students from other departments or other schools are also welcome to study together). This course will be conducted in the form of online teaching. Students can choose to take this course after completing their registration.
The content of the course is mainly to review high school mathematics, and begins to introduce mathematical concepts and mathematical calculation training that will be used in calculus courses. The selection of teaching materials is based on the application of science and engineering, and English reading and English questions will be included in course explanations, assignments, and mid-term and final exams. It is hoped that students who take the course can start to get used to using English as the main language for future university study.
