On completion of the course, students should be able to
1. acquire vocabulary and colloquial expressions from the selected verses;
2. understand the lyrics, the subliminal messages and the cultural context in the selected
verses; and
3. apply the acquired vocabulary and expressions in oral tasks.

課程概述 Course Description
This two-credit course is designed to help students improve their listening and speaking skills in English through the use of popular contemporary English songs. The language focus of this course, aside from extending listening and speaking skills, is mainly on developing an understanding of idiomatic language and colloquial expressions of the selected verses. Specific cultural aspects of songs, if any, will also be addressed and discussed.
