本課程目標在於提示修課同學了解身處時代的文化背景，並通過中西文化除開交流之外的不對稱發展，通過文化霸權的概念了解並掌握自身的思維模式以及生活器用從何而來，如何理解傳統在思維模式中的作用。從而從新審視自身的文化處境，所受的文化限制，進而掌握個人及社會從所由來以及未來可能的發展空間。近代中國知識分子的命運和處境及其表現，作為個案的深刻認識，本課程選擇胡適和陳寅恪以及還繞這兩位知識分子的人與事作為對比。The goal of this course is to prompt students to understand the cultural background of the times they live in, and through the asymmetric development of Chinese and Western cultures apart from exchanges, through the concept of cultural hegemony, to understand and master their own thinking patterns and where the daily necessities of life come from and how they are used. Understand the role of tradition in thought patterns. In this way, we can re-examine our own cultural situation and cultural restrictions, and then grasp the origin of individuals and society as well as the possible future development space. As a profound understanding of the fate, situation and performance of modern Chinese intellectuals, this course selects Hu Shi and Chen Yinke as well as the people and events of these two intellectuals for comparison.
